Salman Khan’s youngest sister Arpita married Delhi based entrepreneur Aayush Sharma in Hyderabad. The ceremony took place at the Falaknuma Palace which hosted Aamir Khan, Karan Johar, Katrina Kaif, David and Varun Dhawan, Baba Siddique and Riteish Deshmukh, among 250 select guests over two-days.
The bride, dressed in a lehenga by Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla, entered the Durbar Hall, which once hosted the likes of King George V and Czar Nicholas II, around 5 pm. The couple was wed as per Hindu traditions with the rituals of a Punjabi wedding. And so, with the saat pheras and sindoor.
While most of the invitees had flown in from Mumbai, the guest list also included Southern stars Chiranjeevi, Venkatesh and Nagarjuna. Falaknuma has reportedly been hired at the cost of Rs 1 crore per day. The hotel was booked in Salman’s name. The actor booked the duplex presidency room, the bedroom of the sixth Nizam, for Aayush, while Arpita settled into the Queen’s suite. Hotel officials took instructions directly from the actor. The service providers, were issued special passes with letters AA, referring to the bride and groom–Arpita and Aayush.
The feast which topped off the celebration was dominated by Deccani cuisine–Hyderabadi biryani, Haleem and Double ka meetha, all favourites of Salman.
