It is a well known fact that making a film is not a piece of cake, especially for a debut director and this story will surely drive home the point that it takes a lot of hard work and sheer determination apart from talent to helm a film.
Sources claim that the team of upcoming film ‘Yaariyan’, which is the directorial debut of Divya Khosla Kumar, had to bear extreme weather conditions while shooting for the film in Lachen, Sikkim. A source attached to the film unit said, “Major scenes of the film are shot in Lachen and the weather there was extremely cold- around minus six degrees! It was one of the toughest schedules of the film.”
However, on her part, Divya seems to have immensely enjoyed her time over there. “I have roamed throughout Europe and other parts of the Western world, but the kind of snowfall that I had seen in India at Lachen was something that I had never seen anywhere before! That place is magical!” Himansh Kohli, who plays the lead Lakshya agrees and adds, “The kind of scenery we had seen there…trees covered in snow and all, was something that I had seen only in magazines or read about in fairy-tales as a kid.”
Produced by Bhushan Kumar, ‘Yaariyan’, which is slated to release on January 10, is a contemporary and youthful film that takes audiences through the trials and tribulations of the best years of their life. The film stars Himansh Kohli, Rakul Preet, Dev Sharma, Shreyas Pardiwalla, Nicole Faria, Evelyn Sharma, Deepti Naval and Gulshan Grover in pivotal roles.
